A Delhi court on Friday extended till Dec 20 the interim protection from arrest granted to Zee Group Chairman Subhash Chandra and his son Punit Goenka in connection with an extortion case against two Zee News journalists filed by Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal .
The court will also hear arguments on their anticipatory bail plea on Dec 20.
As per the directions given by court in its Dec 6 order, the Delhi Police on Friday filed its fresh status report in the case.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police questioned Zee Group chairman Subhash Chandra and his son Punit Goenka on Saturday and Sunday in connection to the case.
Sudhir Chaudhary, head of Zee News, and Samir Ahluwalia, head of Zee Business, were arrested late last month on charges of extortion filed by Jindal's company Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL).
