Plane lands in Siberia after child dies
A passenger aircraft made an emergency landing Thursday in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk after a five-year-old child fell seriously ill, an official said. The child, however, died by the time doctors reached him.
"A five-year-old child died on the morning of Dec 13 on board a Boeing-777 aircraft en route from Moscow to Khabarovsk," the transportation investigative department said.
During the flight, the child was not feeling well and his health deteriorated. The captain of the plane decided to make an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk.
However, doctors pronounced the child dead as they arrived at the aircraft, the statement said.
Investigators are establishing all details of the incident and the cause of the child's death.
