Police have attached the property of the prime accused in the killing of an Assamese youth in Bihar, a police official said Thursday.
The action against Jiten Mandal was taken to put pressure on him to surrender, the official said.
The body of Pritam Bhattacharjee, 25, the only son of his parents, was found under a goods train near a railway station in Bhagalpur district on July 15.
Police said Mandal was on the run since Nepali Singh, another accused, was arrested.
Bhattacharjee went missing July 9 from Naugachia railway station in Bhagalpur, about 200 km from here.
The resident of Silchar in Assam reportedly told his mother on telephone that he was being tormented by four men on the Awadh-Assam Express.
