State-owned energy firm Enarsa plans to construct a 20 MW wind farm in the southwestern Argentine town of Plaza Huincul, officials said.
The wind farm will be built on a 400-hectare tract of land granted by Neuquen province, the Argentine federal government said Tuesday on its web site.
The project will require an initial investment of USD 40 million in the first phase, although Enarsa is planning to boost the farm's generating capacity in a second phase to 80 MW.
Plaza Huincul Mayor Juan Carlos Giannatasio said Enarsa will seek out international funding for the project.
