Silver down; Gold up
A mixed trend was seen in the precious metals today, as Silver fell by Rs 30 to Rs 62,290 per kg on selling pressure from stockists, while Gold rose by Rs 55 to Rs 31,115 per ten gm on improved demand from stockists, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.
Silver was down by Rs 200 per kg in the opening session.
Finally, it closed at Rs 62,290, declining by Rs 30 per kg against its previous close.
Gold which was opened steady at Rs 31,060, gained during the day, as standard and pure gold went up by Rs 55 and Rs 50 per ten gm respectively from its last close.
Standard and pure gold ended positive at Rs 31,115 and Rs 31,240 per ten gm respectively.
The prcious metals fell in Asian Markets, where Gold was quoted at USD 17.08 an ounce and Silver at USD 32.97 per ounce.
