Janathip Athya Mahila Association (AIDWA), women organisation of CPI(M), state unit secretary K K Shailaja today said that AIDWA would organise marches to the offices of Superintendents of Police in all districts of the state from December 15 to 30.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms Shailaja said the Kannur district SP office march would be organised on December 15, while Kasargod district march on December 27.
In Alapuzha district, AIDWA would organise a 48-hr hunger strike as part of this agitation.
She alleged that molestation against women and minor girls had increased recently, mainly during the last two years in all parts of the state by parents, brothers, neighbours and teachers.
Police were not registering cases, under the new section which was passed in 2012 against women atrocities.
Under this section, the accused could not get bail. But the police were registering cases under weak sections and this was helping the accused to get bail, Ms Shailaja charged.
She alleged that police were supporting the criminals and even freeing the accused following pressure from political parties.
She demanded that police register cases under the IT Act and check the use of internet and mobile for spreading obscene visuals.
