Former South Africa fast bowler Makhaya Ntini has claimed he is comfortable with his new task of managing Kaizer Chiefs' sevens rugby team.

Ntini was on Monday named as Chiefs' manager for this weekend's 7sPL tournament at Outeniqua Park in George.

Ntini's appointment followed the decision by soccer giants Kaizer Chiefs to embrace another sporting code.

The fast bowler joined numerous other sporting celebrities for the event which would see the country's leading provincial unions battle it out with Chiefs and other privately owned teams.

The tournament would be run along the lines of cricket's Indian Premier League and the winning team would earn one million rand in prize money.

Ntini is not worried about his lack of experience in a rugby environment, insisting he can manage in his new role.

"Sport is sport. It doesn't matter what kind of sport you played," Sport24 quoted Ntini, as saying.

"The main focus is to motivate the guys, keep them on their toes and make sure they do things the right way," he added.
