Armed Forces modernization planning session to be held in Secundrabad
The College of Defence Management(CDM) and the Indian School of Business(ISB) are planning to jointly conduct Swavalamban III, a two-day annual seminar on 'Indigenisation Through Innovation In Defence Sector', on December 14 and 15 at CDM, Secunderabad.
According to a press release,the nation is in the process of modernizing the armed forces. It is emerging as the largest importer of defence equipment and this dependence on imports needs to be reduced.
Time has now come to reverse the ratio and involve private industry in defence modernization.
To make progress in this direction, senior representatives of private industry, DPSUs, senior officers of armed forces, Officers of MoD OFB and DRDO would deliberate on the issue.
Major Geneneral Nitin Gadkari, Commandant CDM, and Dean, ISB, Ajit Rangnekar, have jointly extended invitations and would be delivering the welcome address.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral D.K. Joshi would be inaugurating seminar on December 14.
General (Retired) J.J. Singh, Governor of Arunanchal Pradesh, has kindly consented to deliver the valedictory address on December 15.
