India's supreme football body All India Football Federation (AIFF) is unlikely to take a rush decision on the derby match abandonment and subsequent violence involving Mohun Bagan and East Bengal at Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday, according to AIFF president Praful Patel.

"It is definitely unfortunate to happen like this but the AIFF would not jump into a conclusion immediately on the issue," Patel told reporters.

He said before taking any decision on the abandonment and violence, the AIFF's disciplinary committee would talk to both the team members (Mohun Bagan and East Bengal), the referees and the match commissioner.

He said even the AIFF would go by the reports of the media, independent observers and other sources before coming into a decision.

"There will be no immediacy on the action as because many issues are involved with football, " Patel said.

Patel also held a meeting with AIFF officials and noted all reports of the derby match.
