Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabbu, Neelam summoned in 14-yr Chinkara poaching case
A local court here today asked Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabbu and Neelam to appear on the next hearing on February 4 in a 14-year-old case of black buck poaching.
The accused cast of the Hindi feature film 'Hum Saath Saath Hein', had allegedly hunted two black bucks, an endangered species, in Kankani area of the district in October 1998.
The trial court had framed charges against the actors earlier. However, the accused had filed a revision petition before the District and Session Court that dropped some charges and added a few others and referred back the revised case to the Chief Judicial Magistrate for hearing.
The court today posted the case for February 4 with directives for the accused to appear before it.
In other cases of hunting chinkaras and black buck in Bhawad/ Mathania area of the district in September 1998, Salman Khan was convicted and slapped with one year jail term and cash penalty but the later had filed appeals against the conviction that are still pending before the Rajasthan High Court.
