A monitoring mechanism will be introduced in the State Law Department to ensure the implementation of orders of the State Human Rights Commission, Kerala Finance and Law Minister K M Mani said here today.
Inaugurating the Human Rights Day observation, organised by the Kerala State Human Rights Commission, the Minister said the delay in implementing the order means denying the rights of the common people.
Thousands of orders issued by the State Human Rights Department are pending due to lack of implementation mechanism in the Law Department, he added.
The new mechanism would ensure proper coordination between various department heads in getting timely explanation related to complaints received by the Commission on various issues, he added.
'Human Rights' would be introduced as a subject at the school and college level as part of creating awareness among younger generation, he said.
The government would allocate sufficient funds in the next budget for the construction of a building for the state Human Rights Commission in the heart of the city, Mr Mani assured.
