Delhi to undertake infra repairs in unauthorised colonies
The Congress-led Delhi government Monday decided to expand the ambit of development work in the recently regularised unauthorised colonies, paving the way for civic agencies to repair roads and drains.
"The cabinet decided to enhance the ambit of developmental works in recently regularized 895 unauthorised colonies, consequently the executing agencies would be able to carry out repair works," said a Delhi government official.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at her residence.
Dikshit earlier returned to her residence from hospital where she was admitted Sunday when she complained of fatigue. she recently underwent the angioplasty procedure.
The cabinet also allowed the utilisation of elected representatives' local area fund for development works in such colonies.
