Indrajit'sw captainc's knock and 117 stand with Kaushik saves TN

Tamil Nadu recovered after the Bengal bowlers had their batsmen on the mat and scored 188 losing five wickts at stumps on the first day of the Elite C Group All India Under 19 cricket championship for the Cooch Behar Trophy here today.

On a day of grim battle between bat and ball over 93.1 overs, the onus was on skipper Baba Aparajit to lift the team up. He did with an unbeaten knock of 69, inclusive of four fours, batting cautiously. J Kaushik too, with a knock of 62 off 171 balls, with the help of eight fours, involved himself in the rescue act. Earlier, M Adithyan (32) also came good with the bat.

Kaushik and Indrajit put on 117 runs for the fourth wicket in 52.2 overs to put Tamil Nadu innings back on the track, as it were. For Bengal Ravikant Singh 2-37 and Amit Gani 2 for 49 shared the bowling honours.
