The host Jammu and Kashmir Police and the last year's fourth position holder and one of the title contenders Punjab Police today defeated their respective rivals in one-sided contests to consolidate their position in league round of the ongoing 61st All India Police Games Hockey Championship here.
In the first match Jammu and Kashmir Police defeated Odisha by 5-0. Surinder from the winning side scored four goals while fifth one came from Amrinder's stick.
In another match, Punjab Police outclassed Jharkhand in one-sided affair 11-0.
International player, Jugraj Singh scored five goals while former India captain, Rajpal Singh added two goals to the team's total.
Satwinder Singh, Amandeep Singh, Amit Sandhu and Ajay Kumar were other scorers.
In other matches of the day, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Karnataka Police and Uttar Pradesh Police emerged winners by beating their respective opponents.
The week-long championship is being hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on December 7 and would conclude on December 14.
