YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded the Andhra Pradesh government to convene the Winter Session of Assembly immediately to discuss pressing public issues.
'It seems there is every effort by the State Government and the main opposition TDP to skip the session, scheduled for December 10, giving some alibi or the other but we demand that the Assembly should be convened to discuss issues of public interest,' party MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy told reporters here today.
A decision to convene the Assembly from December 10 to 21 was taken at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting during the special session held to pass SC, ST Sub Plan 2012 Bill.
Now, the Congress seems to be running away from its responsibility with the help of TDP, he alleged, adding it was not able to conduct 30 days of Assembly Session in a year which was against the spirit of Parliamentary democracy.
