Train traffic on NER restored after 24 hours
The train traffic on Lucknow-Gorakhpur section in Lucknow division of North Eastern Railways, which was disrupted following fire in rail tankers train yesterday, was restored early today.
As many as four trains were cancelled and 25 trains diverted after a major fire in 16 oil tankers of a goods train near Jarwal Road station in Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh.
The train traffic was disrupted for about 24 hours and could be restored this morning at about 0300 hrs, the NER sources said.
Four trains, which were cancelled, included Gorakhpur-Lucknow intercity express, Sitapur-Gonda passenger, Lucknow-Barauni express and Lucknow passenger while the diverted trains included long distance trains like Doon Express and Vaishali express, he said.
The damaged tankers were removed from the track.
