The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will recruit 22,000 constables for central police organisations (CPOs) through a common recruitment examination scheduled to take place next year.
SSC Chairman Vandana Sethi told reporters here today that the Union Home Ministry has entrusted the responsibility for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in various CPOs to the Commission since the past two years.
These CPOs include the Border Security Force, the Central Industrial Security Force, the Indo Tibetan Border Police and the Assam Rifles.
The notice for the examination -- for which last date for submission of examination form is January 1, 2013 -- will be published on December 15 edition of Employment News/Rozgar Samachar. Besides, it will be available on the Commission's website.
A written test will be held on May 12, 2013, for candidates qualifying in physical standard/physical efficiency test to be conducted between February and April.
Medical examination will be organised in August 2013.
Both online and offline applications could be submitted.
Examination fee -- applicable only for general candidates -- for is Rs 50, which is payable by Central Recruitment Fee Stamp for offline applications and State Bank of India challan for online applications. The age limit is 18-23 years.
Fee is exempted for scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/ex-armymen/female candidates. Age relaxation as per rules is given to candidates belonging to reserved category.
The pay scale for the post is Rs 5,200-Rs 20,200+ Rs 2,000- (Grade Pay). Education qualification for the post is matriculation.
Ms Sethi said that 770 posts from Madhya Pradesh and 515 posts from Chhattisgarh are vacant and will be filled through the examination. The centres for written examination in the state will be Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur and in neighbouring Chhattisgarh will be Bilaspur and Raipur.
She said that examination will be held for multi-tasking staff on March 10 and 17. For the purpose, 18 posts are vacant in Madhya Pradesh and six posts in Chhattisgarh.
