Reddy hints at hike in Railway fares
Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy today gave enough indications that the Railway fares will be hiked.
Speaking to mediapersons before flagging off the new bi=weekly Express Train between Secunderabad and Tirupati at Secunderabad Railway Station here, the Union Minister said that the financial condition of railways was weak.
Without directly referring to increase in fares, he appealed to the people to cooperate with the railways.
However, he maintained that the Railways happen to be cheapest mode of transport for public needs. He also acknowledged the State Government's cooperation in sharing costs of Railway Projects in the State.
