Minister assures help to ESI in Kerala

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Kodikunnil Suresh today said the UPA government at the centre was ready to provide funds to Employees State Insurance Corporation of India (ESI) in Kerala, if the state demanded it.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the ESI Divisional office at Eranhipalam, near here, Mr Suresh said that the functioning of the ESI Hospitals in the state was bad.

The State Government, however, has taken steps to improve the ESI hospitals in the state.

He assured all help in this regard, including funds.

He said the state government was ready to hand over the ESI Hospitals to Union Government as it provide proper medical treatment besides developing them.
