Virender Sehwag admits Indian batting failure against England
Virender Shewag today said Indian batting failure was the main reason for present situation as India were heading for big defeat at Eden Gardens in 3rd Test against England.
' We lacked in patient as England showed with batting,' Shewag said in the post match news conference.
He,however, said India still have a chance to carry on fight as long as not out batsmen R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha were on the crease on 5th and final day tomorrow.
While Ashwin was batting 83, Ojha was on 3 as India were struggling 239/9 in the second innings with only 32 runs lead and England to bat.
Mr Shewag said India won in Ahmedabad test because of good scoring over 500 runs but relegated to under 350 runs in next two Tests in Mumbai and Kolkata.
' How can we defend so little score in a Test match,' added the cricketer.
On poor form of Cheteswar Pujara, Mr Shewag said ' You media made him hero while he scored double hundred in Ahemedabad and when he was not getting runs you are now after him,' He said this things happened in cricket.
He said though Indian batting failure was a matter of concern but India had huge talents to come over the present situation. ' It is really makes me concerned,' Shewag said on the failure of Indian batting.
Mr Shewag, however, praised England batting and said they have shown the patients and got runs.
On the Eden pitch, Shewag said it was though good but not turning well.
