Fuel carrying train catches fire in Bahraich
Ten wagons of a train carrying fuel derailed and burst into flames in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Friday.
There were, however, no casualties.
Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot to douse the raging flames.
Vikas Singh, a railway official, said the train's driver, who was injured while trying to escape, had to be rushed to a hospital in an ambulance.
As a result of the mishap, train movement on the Lucknow-Howrah route has been affected. At least seven trains have been diverted and two others have been cancelled.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The Railways is a vital national transportation grid for the country's 1.2 billion people. At least 18 million people travel on trains on any given day.
