International music sensation Gotye heads to India for his first concert in the country in February.
The Australian singer-songwriter just picked up three Grammy nominations, capping off what has been a spectacular year for the musician.
Gotye will perform in New Delhi on Feb 6 at blueFROG, bringing his hits like 'Somebody I Used To Know' and 'Eyes Wide Open' to his Indian fans for the first time.
His concert in Delhi is the finale to Oz Fest, the biggest Australian cultural festival ever held in India, and is being promoted in association with NH7.in.
Gotye is right up among the top Grammy-nominated artists this year, having picked up three Grammy nominations including the prestigious Record Of The Year for his 2011 release Making Mirrors.
Gotye and his duet partner Kimbra have been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group for their worldwide smash hit 'Somebody That I Used To Know', and Gotye's third nomination comes in for Best Alternative Music Album for Making Mirrors.
Gotye also swept the pool at the 2012 ARIAs (Australian Recording Industry Association) announced on Nov 29.
He won more awards than any other artist, picking up a total of six awards, including Best Male Artist and the prestigious Album of the Year for his acclaimed release, Making Mirrors. Gotye was also voted by the public as Australia's Best Live Act.
In 2012, Making Mirrors sold nearly two million copies worldwide - an album that was written and recorded at his home studio. It is well past triple platinum in Australia and has gone top ten in 25 countries.
'Somebody That I Used To Know' - the surprise smash hit single - has moved 13 million units worldwide and has been the biggest selling song of the year in major markets such as the UK.
It spent eight weeks at number one in America.
Its video has passed 350 million views on YouTube and woven its way into the hearts and minds of a good percentage of the planet.
Gotye has appeared on major TV shows like Saturday Night Live and at important festivals like Coachella.
Gotye has recently finished a world tour with 60 dates in iconic venues across the globe from The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Radio City Music Hall in New York City, to London's Hammersmith Apollo and Paris' iconic Le Zenith.
Gotye's 2012 tour also took him to places like Dubai, Poland and Korea for the first time, countries that have embraced his music the last year - and this continues on to 2013 with his first concert in India.
