More than 51.40 lakh tonnes of paddy has so far arrived in various mandis of Haryana during the current kharif season as compared to over 44.98 lakh tonnes arrived during the corresponding period last year.
Stating this here today, a Food and Supplies department spokesman said that out of the total arrival of paddy, maximum quantity of paddy has arrived in district Kurukshetra which is over 8.71 lakh tonnes.
Similarly, district Karnal received over 8.50 lakh tonnes of paddy, district Kaithal over 7.49 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad over 6.40 lakh tonnes, Ambala received more than 5.10 lakh tonnes, Yamunanagar over 3.55 lakh tonnes, Jind over 3.32 lakh tonnes, Panipat received more than 2.28 lakh tonnes, Sirsa over 1.89 lakh tonnes, Sonepat over 1.85 lakh tonnes and Panchkula 74,536 tonnes.
He said that six government agencies had so far procured over 38.20 lakh tonnes of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 13.20 lakh tonnes of paddy was procured by the millers.
He said that over 14.62 lakh tonnes had been procured by Food and Supplies Department whereas HAFED had purchased more than 12.05 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 5.89 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 3.25 lakh tonnes and CONFED procured over 2.27 lakh tonnes of paddy.
The Food Corporation of India has also procured 10,089 tonnes of paddy.
