FB Secy says govt stand on FDI against public statements
All India Forward Bloc (FB) National Secretary G Devarjan has said though the motion against the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) failed in the Lok Sabha yesterday, however the government stand is against the public sentiments.
Mr Devarajan told UNI that parties like SP and BSP which abstained from voting on the motion, are actually against FDI in retail sector.
On the other hand, parties like DMK are supporting the government in FDI because of some selfish intent. Similar is the condition of many Congress MPs and some states like Kerala who actually opposed the FDI but supported it becuase of the desire to enjoy power, the FB secretary alleged.
The party demanded withdrawal of the decision while considering the opposition ,Mr Devarajan added.
The three-day state conference of FB would begin tomorrow at Kannur, as part of the function before the 17th party Congress.
FB National General Secretary Debabrata Biswas would inaugurate the public meeting on December 7 at Stadium Corner and National Chairman Kaipuzha Velappan Nair would inaugurate the delegates meeting on December 8 at Jawahar Library Hall.
As many as 325 delegates from the state would attend the meeting.
An exhibition and documentaries related to Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose have been started at stadium corner today.
