Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has extended his greetings commemorating the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, which was celebrated on November 30.
In his message, which was released to the media here today by the State Government, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the past and present members of the House and wished the people of the state sustained peace, prosperity and harmony.
He said Legislative Assembly was the epicentre of democratic values and Constitutional commitment.
"The Tamil Nadu Legislature has been home to some of our greatest political leaders", he said.
"I salute the memory of Mr C Rajagopalachari, Mr K Kamaraj, Mr M Bhaktavatsalam, Mr C N Annadurai and Mr M G Ramachandran and all those who have contributed to making Tamil Nadu a model state in development", the Prime Minister said.
"On this auspicious occasion, I pay my tributes to the great men and women who have brought distinction and honour to the Tamil Nadu Assembly", he said.
