The inspectorate staff of Haryana Labour department conducted 24 regular inspections of various industrial establishments and launched prosecutions in 84 cases under Factories Act, 1948 during the month of September.
Stating this here today, a department spokesman said that the department conducted 3375 inspections under various labour laws and detected 281 violations of various kinds and recovered over Rs 16.34 lakh as fine. As many as 409 prosecutions were launched and 875 convictions were obtained during the month.
As many as 114 industrial disputes were also got settled by the conciliation officers of the Labour department and 30 demands were withdrawn by workers or trade unions, he added.
He said that the department recovered Rs 100.73 lakh as unpaid, contribution and donation of wages from the employers and spent Rs 66.39 lakh on various labour welfare schemes run by the Welfare Board during the month.
The department was running eleven whole time Labour Welfare Centres in important industrial towns of the state. In these centres, workers were provided the facilities of reading room, library, knitting, training classes for women and other recreational activities, he added.
