Sleuths of the customs department seized foreign goods worth Rs 10 lakhs from the Darjeeling Mail and Padatik Express at the Kishanganj railway station under Katihar division of North East Frontier railway here late last night.
Superintendent of customs department A K Paul said here today that acting on a tip off, a raid was conducted in the brake vans of the two trains, leading to seizure of foreign goods worth of Rs 10 lakhs.
'The seized consignment included foreign clothes and other valuables,' Mr Paul said.
He added that raids were on to nab those involved in smuggling of foreign articles.
Both trains were on way to Howrah from Jalpaiguri, he further added.
