Elections to different cooperative bodies in Andhra Pradesh will be held in two phases between January 21-28.
Informing this at a press conference here today, Minister for Cooperation Kasu Venkata Krishna said the elections for cooperative banks, marketing societies, APCO, Markfed and other cooperative bodies will be held in 22 districts across the State.
Nearly 40 lakh voters will participate in the elections.
The Minister informed that the entire process of cooperative elections would be completed by February 14.
He said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew would soon conduct a video-conference with District Collectors and concerned officials in this regard.
The Minister reminded that cooperative elections, which were not held in the State since 1999, were conducted by the Congress Government in 2005.
