England scored 22 without losing any wicket at lunch after restricting India at 316 in their first innings on the second day of the third Test at the Eden Gardens here on Thursday.
The visiting side took just one hour in the morning session to clean off the Indian tail.
Monty Pasensar continued to hoodwink the Indian batsmen and picked up two of the reaming three home wickets. He finished with a figure of four for 90.
M S Dhoni was the only Indian batsman, who took on the England tweaker.
The Indian skipper smashed Panessar for two consecutive sixes.
The later one powered Dhoni to a fighting half century.
Besides the huge sixes, Dhoni struck five boundaries in 114-ball knock of 52.
The England openers-Nick Crompton and Alaister Cook--came out to bat in a positive frame of mind and saw off the hour before lunch without any damage.
The in-form England skipper was batting 17, while his partner remained unbeaten on 5.
Indian pacers--Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma--looked ineffective in comparison to their English counterparts.
They failed to get the swing in the ten combined overs that they bowled.
