Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today hailed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the UPA government for winning the vote in the Lok Sabha on FDI in retail.
Mr Reddy described the winning of votes on a crucial issue like the FDI retail as the reflection of the continued reposing of faith of the people in the UPA Government and in the leadership of Dr Manmohan singh and Soniaji, a release from Chief Minister's Office here said.
The Chief Minister said the FDI in retail trading in the country will help the consumers and agricultural farmers to a great extent.
He said farmers were sure to get remunerative prices for their produce, while consumers will get quality products at reasonable prices.
He said cities like Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam would get investment of at least Rs 500 crore in FDI in retail business.
The Chief Minister said the UPA government has gone ahead on the decision with confidence since it was sure that the move will surely help the consumers and producers.
