Sonia happy at govt win in LS vote on FDI
Expressing happiness over the government's win in the vote on FDI in retail in the Lok Sabha, Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi said the defeat of the opposition motion against FDI was a win for the party and the Government.
Talking to reporters after the opposition motion was defeated in the Lok Sabha with only 218 voting in favour while 253 against it, Ms Gandhi said, "I am happy over the win of the Government on the FDI issue. It is a win for Congress and government stand on FDI." Asked whether the Government would also win the vote on FDI in the Rajya Sabha, the Congress president said, "there is nothing to worry in the Rajya Sabha." Talking to reporters, Congress leader and Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kamal Nath said the outcome was a defeat of BJP's politics on the issue.--UNI
