The Assam Right to Public Services Act, 2012, will be implemented from mid-April next year, coinciding with the Assamese New Year.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi yesterday chaired a meeting here to review the preparatory arrangements for the Act, an official statement said here today.
Under the provisions of the Act, the Government will provide certain notified public services to the eligible citizens in time bound manner.
All 13 departments overseeing 47 services proposed to be notified initially for public service delivery have been advised to complete the required arrangements for smooth delivery of the notified services from April, 2013.
The services to be notified initially, include Land Holding Certificate, Certified copy of Jamabandi, Services provided in registration offices, Land Valuation Certificate, Duplicate Mark sheet, Duplicate Pass Certificate, Migration Certificate, Learner licence, Driving licence, Vehicle Registration, Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) for Higher Education, Registration of name in Employment Exchange, Registration under the Assam Shops and Establishment Act,1971, Character Verification (for job, passport and driving licenses).
Later on, in phased manner, additional services will be brought under the purview of the Act.
A notification in this effect will be issued, the statement added.
