Punjab asks all departments to frame service rules
The Punjab government has directed all the state departments to finalise their service rules to check unwanted litigation.
An official spokesman said it had been noticed that lack of service rules resulted in undue litigation thereby creating various administrative and legal hurdles.
The spokesman said that it had also been noticed that number of departments had not yet finalised their service rules and there were also some departments which had no service rules.
He said each department had been sent a performa to submit existing service rules in their departments besides mentioning the date of updation as well as the reasons for not updating the service rules yet.
He said that all the Financial Commissioner, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries had been asked to ensure the finalisation of required service rules.
