Hart admits Man City 'let themselves down' in Europe following CL exit
Soccer ace Joe Hart has admitted his Manchester City side had let themselves down as they slunk out of Europe.
The Prem champions' keeper has no answer to why they are the first English club to go out of the Champions League without winning a single group-stage game.
City are now officially the worst English side in Champions League history after a 1-0 defeat here to Borussia Dortmund left them with just three points from their six group stage matches.
"Of course we've let ourselves down, because we haven't even got in the Europa League. Was it the same old story? Yes. I don't know why. I'd love to answer it," the Daily Mirror quoted Hart, as saying.
"We need to address it though. There was a hunger to win and if that meant Europa League, than great. But we've got bigger issues than that," he added.
Hart said admitted that only the City players were to be blamed for the Europa League debacle.
"We were up against a weakened team and we had to win. We should be fighting to go through to the last 16 on the last day of the group stage and we've only got ourselves to blame that we're no," he said.
