India stops poultry products export to B'desh, SL

The government on Wednesday said India has stopped exporting poultry products to some countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

"Some countries like Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia have imposed a ban on the import of poultry products from India, due to bird flu," Minister of State for Commerce and Industry D. Purandeswari in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.

"The export of poultry products to these countries have stopped," the minister said.
