Pakistan's Interior Ministry has said it has requested the court to grant permission to publish the investigation report of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination.

The government has said it has already completed the investigation process and filed the challan in the court, reports the Daily Times.

"The prior permission of the court is required to make the report public," Interior Minister Rehman Malik said.

Malik said the witnesses are being cross-examined while the court has also been requested to hear the case on a day-to-day basis. He said the killers of Benazir Bhutto would not be spared and brought to justice.

Malik said the investigation document is "very important" as people wanted to know about those who were behind the assassination.
