The second edition of Infrastrcuture Conference, IC-2012, focusing on the neeed for a paradigm shift towards modern technologies, superior construction techniques and efficient managment for sustainable development of project, will be held here from December 6 to 8.
Informing this at a news conference, Kerala Public Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju said the three-day event, to be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, in which an array of Ministers and experts in the field, not only from the country, but also from abroad would take part and present their lectures.
Besides Cabinet Ministers and legislatrors, about 600 selected delegates would be participating in the conference, he said adding the IC wouldhave eight sessions where about 20 eminent nationally and internationlly renowned experts in various sectors share their valued experience.
Project conceptualisation and planning, investigation and data capture using modern techniques, state of the art designing based on latest softwares, comprehensive safety measures, quality assurance programmes and Internationally accepted best practices in civil construction would be covered in the technical session, he added.
'This is the positive step towards the state government's larger goal of modernisation of the state PWD,' he said adding tht 'the valuable recommendations, suggestions and ideas of the eminent experts and those emerged in the brain storming sessions will be captured and pooled into formulate concrete strategies, culminating towards a comprehensive policy aimed at a total revamp of the current practices.'
