Becks celebrates end of US playing career by watching Lakers game with Gerard Butler
David Beckham, who recently ended his playing career with LA Galaxy, chose to celebrate his retirement by watching a LA Lakers game with actor Gerard Butler on Sunday.
The 37-year-old footie ace took a front row seat in the star-studded stadium.
The Lakers fans seemed pleased to see former England captain, applauding, as he appeared on the big screen.
And Butler made it clear he was amongst the football icon's supporters, going over to share his congratulations, the Daily Mail reported.
Having announced that the final would be his last act as a Galaxy player, Beckham was substituted late on in the match, as his team lifted the MLS Cup on Saturday.
"It is a special day for us to win it here at our home, in front of our home fans," Beckham said.
"It is a sad day as well. This is a special place for me and will continue to be a special place. I have no idea where I will go next. I do know that I am happy to have been part of this club for six years and been successful for the last four years.
"I will continue with my commitment to this league. I might not be playing here any more but my commitment to growing this sport and this league will continue," he said.
