Lady Gaga buys 55 of MJ's costumes at auction
Lady Gaga outbid many collectors to snap up 55 pieces of Michael Jackson's costumes at an auction in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday.
The 26-year-old singer tweeted on Sunday that she had bought them in the sale administered by Julien's Auctions, the Daily Mail reported.
The 'Bad Romance' hitmaker said that she plans to keep the items "archived and expertly cared for in the spirit and love of the pop legend, his bravery and fans worldwide."
A jacket that Jackson wore during his 'Bad tour' fetched 240,000 dollars.
Two of Jackson's crystal-encrusted gloves sold for more than 100,000 dollars each, as did other jackets and performance costumes.
The auction that featured the collection of Jackson's longtime costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush raised more than 5 million dollars.
Some proceeds of the sale benefited Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
