John Travolta sued by former gay pilot lover over 'secret relationship' gag
John Travolta has been sued by his former pilot, who recently accused the actor of having a secret relationship with him.
Doug Gotterba, who claims to have served as the 54-year-old actor's pilot from 1981 to 1987, said that he never signed any confidentiality agreement that would stop him from talking to the media, but the 'Grease' star's camp says that he's completely full of crap, TMZ.com reported.
Gotterba made headlines recently when he reportedly spoke to the National Enquirer about his "steamy affair" with Travolta.
Gotterba did not go into details about his personal relationship with Travolta, but said that after the revelation, he received a threatening letter from Travolta's attorney Marty Singer, the website said.
In the suit, he claims that Singer threatened to sue him for violating a confidentiality agreement he signed when he stopped working for Travolta.
Gotterba said that he did sign a termination agreement but it had no confidentiality clause.
Therefore, he said that he did nothing wrong and should be allowed to talk about Travolta without fear of a lawsuit.
But Singer said that Gotterba's suit is "ridiculous" as he did sign a contract having a confidentiality agreement and he even included the document in his lawsuit.
"Mr. Gotterba obviously filed this lawsuit to get his 15 minutes of fame. We plan to get this meritless case promptly dismissed," he added.
