1 killed in Mumbai building collapse
A woman was killed when a major portion of a slab of Victoria House building in Mumbai's Lower Parel area collapsed on Monday, said police.
At least six others were reportedly injured in the mishap.
Several others are feared to be trapped under the debris, a police official said.
Rescue operation is currently going on.
The building located on Kamla Mills compound, was also damaged.
At least six fire engines have reached the spot.
The injured were taken to KEM Hospital, reports said.
"According to fire officials, preliminary inquires have revealed that the building, a ground plus three storey structure, was under demolition when a portion of the slab caved in along with the workers who were working," Mid Day reported.
Several people were evacuated since 11 am after a huge crack was noticed in the building.
