Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today introduced the Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan and Tribal sub-plan (Planning allocation and utilisation of financial Resources) Bill, 2012 on the first day of the three-day special session of the legislative Assembly here today.
As soon as the House assembled, the Chief Minister introduced the Bill to enact a historic legislation to give statutory statues to the SC/ST sub plan, after Speaker Nadendla Manohar asked him to introduce it.
While making a few remarks on the Bill after introducing it, Mr Reddy said to bridge the gaps in development of Scs and STs when compared with the state average, the government constituted a cabinet sub-committee in March to examine the matters relating to the implementation of SCs Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Pan (TSP).
The Committee submitted its report in August after elaborate state/District level discussions with stake holders and a series of meetings with government departments to assess the impediments and challenges being faced in the implementation of Scheduled Castes sub-plan/Tribal sub-plan, the Chief Minister said.
