Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar had a miraculous escape when the helicopter in which he was flying made an emergency landing due to a technical snag at Kumarapatnam near Davangere, about 270 km from here.
Reports reaching here said Mr Shettar was safe and not injured. He was on his way to Jagalur in Chitradurga district to attend public functions and was to land at the nearby Uchangi Durga helipad.
Due to some technical snag, the pilot landed the helicopter at Kumarapatnam, which is about 60 km from the scheduled landing spot.
Sources said soon after landing, message was sent to the officials as there was no one at Kumarapatnam helipad. Soon vehicles arrived to take the Chief Minister to a guest house where he was resting now and would later reach Jagalur.
