Mohun Bagan finance secretary Debashish Dutta quit from post
Less than 24 hours after Dempo Sports Club drubbed McDowell Mohun Bagan 3-0 in the 8th round of I-League in Goa, Kolkata club's powerful man and finance secretary Debashis Dutta relinquished from his post owning the moral responsibility of the century club's present debacle.
His resignation comes few days after club physio Joseph Ronald D' Angelus quit the club for his personal problem.
Mr Dutta has been very active for years in the club in all key-issue decisions, and was very close to club president Swapan Sadhan Bose (Tutu) and secretary Anjan Kumar Mitra.
In a letter today Mr Dutta said he had taken moral responsibility for present debacle in the club, a reference to failure in the Federation Cup and humiliating defeats in many matches in I-L.
Barring the All Indian Air Lines Cup, Mohun Bagan have not won any trophy for past 30 months.
The Air Lines cup committee declared Mohun Bagan winner after Mohammedan Sporting refused to play the final after many times postponement.
