Contrary to the hype created by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's Sadbhavana Mission fast in September last year, the second list of candidates announced by the BJP high command last night, does not contain name of a single muslim candidate.
When Mr Modi took up Sadbhavana Mission fast last year purportedly to woo the minority community to catapult himself in the national politics, the buzz was that he would ensure a few tickets for muslims in the state assembly elections, scheduled to be held next month. But judging from two lists announced by the party for two phases of elections, not a single muslim has got the saffron party ticket.
According to political analysts here, Mr Modi, who is seen here as the ultimate decision maker in ticket allocation, has refrained from experimenting with new ideas.
Even he decided against deploying 'no repeat theory' that he successfully utilised during last election to beat the anti-incumbancy wave.
