Tremors cause fear among people

Mild tremors shook Mettur town in this district of Tamil Nadu, forcing people to run out of their homes in panic early this morning.
Police said the tremors measured 3.01 on the Richter scale. No damage was reported as a result of the tremors eventhough utensils rattled and fell down in some houses.
Meanwhile, people also complained that the seismography meter meant to measure tremors kept in the Mettur dam was not in working condition for the last four years.
The authorities must take action and get the instrument repaired they demanded.
