Man, teen held for abducting minor girl

Police today arrested two youths including a 16-year-old plus two school student, in connection with the charges of abducting a 14-year-old tenth standard student of Puzhathi School in this district, by using a rented car.

According to police, the arrested were Muhammed Easa (18) of Kottali, who was working as a salesman in a pickle company and his friend 16-year-old plus two student. Police said the incident occurred yesterday when, they abducted a 14-year-old student in a car, while she was going to her house along with her friend at 1715 hrs, after attacking the friend.

Her friend rushed to the house of the girl and narrated the incident.

They informed the police.

At that time the car was driven by the plus two student and the locals blocked the car at Thazhe Chowa when they felt some doubt.

They nabbed the 16-year-old student.

But Mohammed Easa escaped along with the girl. Locals handed over the student to police and during the interrogation, the student said the Muhammed Easa and the girl were going to the house of one of his friends, Jabir, in Wynad. Police team led by Sub Inspector Sanal Kumar traced the car with the help of cyber cell and nabbed him from Nedumpoyil in Waynad. Later, police handed over the girl to her family at midnight last night.

Muhammed Easa confessed he was in love, but the girl did not respond.

So, he abducted the girl to marry her.

Police would produce Muhammed Easa before the JFCM Court and 16-year-old before the Juvenile court at Thalassery, police said.
