The Haryana Government has given free residential plots each of 100 sq yard to about 9,500 poor homeless families in 154 villages of district Gurgaon under Mahatma Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojna.

Such plots have been given to the beneficiaries within their own villages. This scheme of the government is proving very beneficial for the poor who are admiring this commendable step taken by the government for their uplift.

Expressing his gratitude towards Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, one of the beneficiaries Sham Veer, a resident of village Damdama of Sohna block, said "the government, by providing free plots to the poor, has proved that it takes care of the interest of the poor".

Another beneficiary Samsudhin, a resident of village Kiranki Khedli, said that this scheme of the government would stop the migration of poor families. Earlier, due to unavailability of space, the poor families were migrating from the villages, he added.
