Pushkar Fair concluded with holy dip in the sarovar
More than 1.5 lakh devotees took holy dip in the mythological Pushkar sarovar on the occasion of Kartik Pornima near here today that marked conclusion of the internationally famed Pushkar fair.
A large number of people thronged the ghats of the holy pond in this ancient pilgrim centre that is believed to be the venue of yagna performed by Lord Brahma--the Creator, in mythological era.
Pigrims also offered ceremonial prayers/worship at the Brahma Mandir and several other temples built along the Pushkar ghats.
A number of competitions/events and entertainment programmes were also organised in the five-day socio-religious annual event that attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world.
This also marked conclusion of famous camel/cattle fair during which camels, horses, donkeys cows and bulls were traded to fetch an income of more than Rs eight crore to sellers/organisers.
