Calling the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar 'anti-people', Rajya Sabha MP and Lok Janshakti Party chief Ramvilas Paswan today alleged that there were scams in different schemes and law and order situation has deteriorated in the BJP-JD(U) ruled state.
Mr Paswan said the LJP will launch 'Bihar bachao yatra' (save Bihar yatra) from January 6. Awareness programmes will be organised at every block under the yatra.
"There is scam in different schemes including MNREGA in Bihar. The law and order situation has deteriorated. Incidents of loot, murder and other crimes are increasing and the state government has failed in controlling the situation," Mr Paswan said here during a programme organised to celeberate 12th formation year of the LJP.
Mr Paswan alleged that the state government was responsible for the stampede at Patna's Adalat Ghat in which at least 17 people were killed on the occasion of Chhath Puja on November 19.
"The whole state machinery was used in the Chief Minister's yatra but there were no arrangements for Chhath Puja," the Rajya Sabha MP added.
He said the 'Bihar bachao yatra' will also strengthen the party in Bihar.
Mr Paswan added that the LJP was prepared for the next general elections.
Mr Paswan yesterday had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding a CBI probe into alleged malpractices and embezzlement of funds in MNREGA schemes in Bihar.
Demanding an audit of the schemes, Mr Paswan said there should be a CBI probe into the matter.
